CPHFW publishes its 2023 Annual Sustainability Report

This year’s Annual Sustainability Report marks a status update on the first year of Copenhagen Fashion Week's 2023–2025 Action Plan where CPHFW reached 20 of 20 targets set for 2023.

This year’s Annual Sustainability Report marks a status update on the first year of Copenhagen Fashion Week’s (CPHFW) 2023–2025 Action Plan where CPHFW reached 20 of 220 targets set for 2023. Actions span across education, emission and waste reduction as well as accelerating the industry’s sustainability efforts.

2023 highlights

• In our ambitions to keep on educating ourselves and sharing knowledge with our wider community, we established event and show production guidelines that we follow at CPHFW. This guideline is also shared with our network and is publicly available to provide inspiration for brands, production agencies and suppliers alike.
• CPHFW allocated resources to be on top of legislative developments in the European Union, resulting in close monitoring activities, policy newsletters and knowledge sharing on our digital channels. Findings also informed the sustainability requirements framework moving forward.
• Partnering up with Plan A in the beginning of 2023, we have expanded our climate actions by measuring our organisational and digital emissions to get a comprehensive overview of our carbon footprint both during fashion week and inter-seasonally. With the baseline measured throughout 2023, we will lay out a plan for total greenhouse gas emissions reduction in 2024.
• After a full year of being in effect, the Minimum Standards and additional actions have been revised. The revisions will be published leading in early 2024 and have been revised by our Advisory Board, Knowledge Partners as well as Sustainability Committee.

Looking ahead

Entering the second year of our 2023–2025 Action Plan, we are looking forward to launching new projects and furthering our efforts. Among the 21 set targets for 2024, we will for example launch an industry insight report based on CPHFW’s Sustainability Requirements and Minimum Standards and pursue partnerships with companies that offer solutions for business innovation.
