
Copenhagen Fashion Week 2025: Year in Review
As 2025 comes to a close, Copenhagen Fashion Week looks back on the year's significant achievements and standout moments.
Below we revisit the journey of the past year, highlighting key milestones, cross-departmental efforts, and the goals that have shaped the organisation’s continued progress.
Sustainability:
- CPHFW announced a partnership with The British Fashion Council on the Sustainability Requirements framework, embedding the Minimum Standards across BFC NEWGEN.
- CPHFW announced a partnership with Amsterdam Fashion Week across the Sustainability Requirements framework.
- Copenhagen Fashion Week hosted a roundtable with The Climate Pledge during New York Climate Week, bringing together a panel of speakers and industry representatives.
- The AW26 edition marked the implementation of the updated Sustainability Requirements. Introduced in 2024 and piloted over the past two seasons, the revised framework represents a natural evolution and strengthens the version first implemented in 2023.
Brand Relations:
- Cecilie Bahnsen hosted the inaugural guest slot as part of the August edition, presenting an archive runway show in recognition of the brand's 10 year anniversary.
- CPHFW welcomed 50 brands to the show and presentation schedule, encompassing Danish, Swedish, British, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Nigerian, Jordanian-Palestinian, and Ukrainian businesses.
- CPHFW has introduced the Homecoming Slot, a recognition for Nordic brands returning after seasons abroad, highlighting the strength of Nordic fashion. Holzweiler will be the first recipient, showing during the AW26 edition.
Communications:
- The New York Times dedicated a full page to the August edition, with the photojournalist Simbarashe Cha dubbing Copenhagen Fashion Week 'A Fashion Week Like None Other.'
- CPHFW's press and media exposure continue to grow, with features across Vogue Scandinavia, Vogue USA, British Vogue, Vogue Business, the Financial Times, WWD, i-D, Wallpaper*, Elle USA, Dazed, WWD Japan, The Guardian, Telegraph, Vogue Italia, and GQ Italia, among others.
- CPHFW welcomed a number of influential figures and guests to its 2025 editions, including Tonne Goodman, Pamela Anderson, Alana Hadid, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Hirofumi Kurino, Salehe Bembury, and Simbarashe Cha, among others.
CPHFW NEWTALENT:
- CPHFW NEWTALENT welcomed Anne Sofie Madsen and Stem to the scheme, with One To Watch designers including Kettel Atelier, Sson, Studio Constance and Taus.
- CPHFW NEWTALENT announced Pandora as headline partner of the talent incubator program.
- CPHFW collaborated with the V&A, hosting Fashion In Motion. The three shows presented the CPHFW NEWTALENT AW25 recipients Alectra Rothschild/Masculina, Stamm, Berner Kuhl, Bonnetje and the 2024 Wessel & Vett winner Stem to 2,000 members of the public.
Production:
- Nikolaj Kunsthal was the official venue of Copenhagen Fashion Week for the August edition, hosting shows from Forza Collective, Rave Review, Freya Dalsjø and Nicklas Skovgaard.
- CPHFW collaborated with the V&A, curating a public talk program. The program explored topics including industry collaboration, supporting the next generation of talent, the future of education, and model representation & diversity in the workforce.
Partnerships:
- Dazed, Pandora and Copenhagen Fashion Week came together in January 2025 to host the official dinner, celebrating the creative spirit of the Nordics.
- During the August edition, CPHFW took over the city with assets across all Copenhagen metro screens, electric VIP Polestar cars provided by SIXT, the press and instax™-powered photography buses, and banners on iconic cultural institutions such as Nikolaj Kunsthal.
- CPHFW welcomed global commercial partners across multiple sectors, showcasing the power of cross-pollination, while strengthening international and Nordic industry partnerships to foster exchange and innovation.
