Merceria is a living performance and temporary store where objects carry traces of gesture and ritual rooted in time. Staged in Copenhagen, garments, bags, and jewellery come together as fragments of traditional Italian craftsmanship.The project evokes the intimate, domestic atmosphere of Italian shops, in dialogue with three brands grounded in craftsmanship and conscious production: Catheclisma, Sicels, and Sarta.
Merceria opens at Lille Kirkestræde 3 from July 31 to August 3, unfolding as a quiet passage between presence and memory. The presentation concludes with a closing performance on Monday, August 3, from 11:00–13:00, where repetition, wrapping, and continuity reveal the slow, considered practices behind the brands, accompanied by a breakfast selection of traditional Italian sweets.
Steeped in Italian culture and shaped by Scandinavian minimalism, Merceria explores fashion as something tactile, emotional, and deeply connected to everyday life.
