Berner Kühl x Positive Playground Installation
Threshold In-store installation by Berner Kühl x Positive Playground
During Copenhagen Fashion Week, the Berner Kühl store will be temporarily reconfigured in collaboration with Japanese spatial studio Positive Playground, exploring ideas of refinement, restraint, and the blurred boundary between inside and outside. The floor is fully covered in gravel stone, with a narrow footpath guiding movement through the space. The gesture slows the body, shifting the store from a commercial interior into something closer to a landscape or threshold. At the window, a singular table/podium is constructed as a continuous plane that appears to pass directly through the glass. Inside, it functions as a pedestal for a 300/400-year-old Korean paper water flask. An object of fragility, age, and quiet utility. Outside, the same surface becomes a table accompanied by two small stools, inviting pause and use. The installation frames the window not as a barrier, but as a membrane. One surface serving two contexts, domestic and exhibition, interior and exterior.
