The Jewellery Room introduces a new focus

This season, The Jewellery Room initiates a new focus — namely a focus on sustainability and a mission to position Copenhagen as the capital of jewellery “en vogue”.

The Jewellery Room, established with the aim to bridge the gap between jewellery and fashion, is opening its doors to the exclusive jewellery universe on Friday 31 January. The esteemed showroom and exhibition showcases some of the most significant Scandinavian and international jewellery brands to press and buyers.

This season, The Jewellery Room highlights sustainability in the jewellery industry —  a strong new focus initiated by the two founders, the sisters Pernille and Charlotte Møbjerg. The 20 exhibiting brands are all working with sustainable initiatives in different ways. Bringing a stronger focus on sustainability into The Jewellery Room space has been something the founders have been working on for a while, as sustainability is becoming an increasingly important aspect to both the consumer and the jewellery industry.

”We’re proud to be the first jewellery show during a fashion week to celebrate the sustainable initiatives that are being done by brands, and it makes perfect sense to be doing it with Copenhagen Fashion Week, who has been a great inspiration. The majority of the brands we work with, both big and small, are already working with different ethical and sustainable initiatives as sustainability is already deeply rooted in their DNA — from using recycled gold and silver, to being conscious about gemstones, packaging and the like. Highlighting sustainability within jewellery in the fashion week has become more relevant than ever before and we’re excited to take The Jewellery Room to the next level,” states Charlotte Møbjerg Ansel-Henry, Co-Founder of The Jewellery Room.

The exhibition will have different highlights throughout the day that offer guests a new experience as well as new knowledge. Brunch will be served from 9 – 11 accompanied by a ”slow-show”, followed by an expert panel discussion on sustainability in the industry that will take place in the afternoon.

The Jewellery Room takes place Friday 31 January at Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers, Bredgade 33, from 9-16.00.
