As a critic, it is not politically correct to write this sort of thing. But here goes. I love Saks Potts.

These two young women, Barbara Potts and Catherine Saks, have exceptional talent, guts, and courage — qualities propelling their design to a worldwide platform. One through which Bergdorf Goodman, Harvey Nichols, and Corso Como recently joined an already impressive list of international luxury stores carrying the Danish fur design.

Saks Potts’s five-year jubilee in fur fashion was celebrated with an over-the-top show for 1,200 people at Østerbro Stadium  on Thursday. The collection? Number 10, “Olympia”, inspired by the Winter Olympics and figure skating.

Starting with a fine performance by forty gymnasts, in SP stretch bathing suits with the new Olympia print. Followed, like at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, by a special entrance , a model wearing a stunning floor-length white mink “bride gown” with a cape, a train, and swakara sleeves, created in collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur.

Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark and the ice skater princess, Pernille Sørensen, along with various types of models, demonstrated the unifying world of sports and the collection’s athletic references. Such as the bathing suits and sensual catsuits in bleeding colors and the introduction of gorgeous nylon down jackets, trousers, and vests in new colourful prints, the SP signature print and in abstract patterns — available this autumn.

The Olympia collection’s more dramatic and sexy feel included shiny lacquered leather coats with fox collar and cuffs and incredibly hued Tibetan lamb. Sustainability was evident in a rather lovely red mink coat made of your regular waste: mink paws, made glamorous with collar and cuffs of red fox.

Saks Potts received the ELLE Style Awards “ The Years Unavoidable”  in 2015 and “Brand of the Year” in 2018. They are bound to win “Show of the Year” next time.
