Meet the industry insiders — Q&A with Laura Larbalestier, group fashion buying director at Harvey Nichols
Meet the buyers dives into the excitement and expectations from some of our invited buyers for Copenhagen Fashion Week SS20, offering you a look behind the scenes.
Through several seasons, Laura Larbalestier, group fashion buying director at Harvey Nichols, has visited Copenhagen Fashion Week and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere is something she keeps looking forward to going back. Excited to see favourites like Rotate, Birger Christensen and Stine Goya, she’s also keeping an eye out for new inspiration.
Your trip to Copenhagen Fashion Week is fast approaching. What are you most excited about?
I am really excited to see the shows of the brands we already stock, like Rotate, Stine Goya and so many others. I have been coming to Copenhagen Fashion Week for five years now and I always find something new, cool new accessory brands, or some great home-wear, as well as tons of great clothes.
In your opinion, what sets Copenhagen Fashion Week apart from the other international fashion weeks?
I think the atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly and I think the designers in Copenhagen really have carved a niche making great products at the right price point. I really see it as the most important market for womenswear at a contemporary price point.
Anything in particular you are anticipating from the designers at Copenhagen Fashion Week for SS20?
I’m looking forward to discovering the new must haves for spring/summer 2020.
Copenhagen Fashion Week kicks off on Tuesday 6 August – Friday 9 August.
