Meet the Industry Insiders — Q&A with Frida Bard, Creative Director at HOPE

Meet the designers dives into the excitement and expectations from some of the brands on the official schedule for Copenhagen Fashion Week SS20, offering you a look behind the scenes.

Copenhagen Fashion Week is pleased to welcome Scandinavian newcomers to the official SS20 schedule, and among them are Swedish darling HOPE, who have chosen to show at Copenhagen Fashion Week for the very first time.

Passionate about diversity, creativity and self expression, HOPE works under the ethos that ‘style comes before gender’ and that there is no reason why anyone today should feel limited by outdated fashion conventions. Encouraging their customers to explore their full assortment, rather than just one department, HOPE started labelling all their garments with both men’s and women’s sizes in the spring of 2017. Their bold individualism has inspired their upcoming presentation and Copenhagen Fashion Week is excited to see what their SS20 collection has to offer.

In your opinion, what sets Copenhagen Fashion Week apart from other international fashion weeks?
The seamless meeting between press and sales, presenting both an interesting show schedule and great fairs.

What are you most excited about, with SS20 approaching?
To take the step of showing outside of Sweden! For the past seasons, we’ve had our presentations in our creative home – HOPE Head Office – so this isn’t “only” about moving outside of our city but pushing our boundaries and trying something entirely different.

Could you give us a hint on what we can anticipate from your presentation?
We’re always inspired by two things: bold individuals and the strength of togetherness. I’ll leave it at that…

Copenhagen Fashion Week kicks off on Tuesday, 6 August – Friday, 9 August
