The high end of low key – Uniforms for the Dedicated
Words Sille Ugelvig
Once again, Uniforms for the Dedicated offered styles pure and complete in its new collection. The Swedish label’s show models were dressed in classic silhouettes, with black-painted eyes, red roses, and berets with white bows.
Had they just emerged from the streets of Paris? A color palette kept in black, grey, white, navy, green, and a drop of red seemed to say so.
Since the brand was established in 2006, sustainability has been a focus, one visible in today’s show. Designer Rasmus Wingårdh has succeeded in making a timeless, Nordic collection with a touch of extravagance, carried out in organic and bio-based fibers. Keeping it low-key stylish, the models strolled down the catwalk in leather slippers, wearing long wool coats, chinos, blazers, denim jeans, and turtlenecks. A-line jackets, in the middle of everything, stood out as ready-to-wear purchaseables.
Perhaps the brand’s name says it all. For what lover of streetwear would not be dedicated to such uniforms?
