This season for AW22, the three finalists will gather with industry invitees to announce the winner of the Zalando Sustainability Award.

The finalists for the February edition include:

Fassbender

Fassbender is a Hamburg-based label that brings together the elegance of sophisticated tailoring, comfort and functionality. A Fassbender garment is an everyday companion that makes it through the rainy morning walk and shines at the cocktail dinner in the evening. Founded in 2017 by fashion industry veteran Christina Fassbender with her brother Sebastian Steinhoff, and designed by New York-based creative director Matthias Louwen, Fassbender is a friends and family business with a strong commitment to quality and responsibility. We believe in the connectedness of living beings and nature and work towards a responsible circular economy that respects the environment and all of its life.

Iso.Poetism by Tobias Birk Nielsen

ISO.POETISM BY TOBIAS BIRK NIELSEN, the corporeal manifestation of Tobias Birk Nielsen inner odyssey through life, begins its journey in 2017 emerging from the danish mists. Through the use of a poetic lens, former Wood Wood & Boris Bidjan Saberi design trainee, and MA Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts graduate, Tobias Birk Nielsen seeks to depict the reality of surviving the trials that life throws at all of us. Meticulously designed in Copenhagen, Denmark, and crafted in Italy, using only the finest Korean & Italian fabrics, ISO.POETISM BY TOBIAS BIRK NIELSEN believes that garments stand for so much more than just a sellable product. Rather than creating just any other material possession, it aims to create artefacts that will comfort the client.

Tomorrow Denim

Launched in Copenhagen in 2018, Tomorrow Denim is the world’s first denim brand certified by both the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel, two of the world’s toughest environmental certifications. With focus on well-crafted jeans fits and the right treatments and washes, the mission is simple: To prove that great style and a sustainable mindset go hand in hand. Through a holistic approach to sustainability and designs made to last, Tomorrow invests in high-quality fabrics and denim construction that enhances a woman’s body while keeping comfort at the forefront. The aesthetics are inspired by Scandinavian minimalism and the interesting play between masculine and feminine. Classic workwear details or heavy denim turned into lean silhouettes and elegant denim wear. Each garment in the collection is a carefully selected gem in terms of fitting and making.
