ECCO on the runway

The ECCO 2020 footwear line was featured on the AW20 runway in collaboration with Designers Remix, a front-runner in the field of sustainable fashion, Copenhagen-based label Lovechild 1979, as well as Soulland — complementing their launch of a unisex outerwear line.

Founded on the shared core values of sustainability and designing for longevity, Copenhagen Fashion Week partnered with ECCO, and brought their 2020 collection to the runway.

Established in 2002, Designers, Remix is currently undergoing a transformation — using materials that don’t compromise on environmental responsibility, as well as taking all production processes into consideration. Instead of using runway models, Designer’s Remix had real women – with real stories – walking the runway, wearing ECCO’s line of on-trend silhouettes, engineered with ECCO’s state-of-the-art FLUIDFORM™ Direct Comfort Innovation and crafted from premium ECCO leather. The finished shoe supports ECCO’s ‘BUY LESS, BETTER’ philosophy – built on an ethos of purchasing styles with high versatility, to dress any outfit up or down.

With a focus on sourcing materials from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified factories, Soulland’s philosophy serves the goal of creating garments with a contemporary, cutting-edge feel. On the catwalk, we saw Soulland’s new line of unisex outerwear perfectly paired with ECCO’s credible performance shoes. Like ECCO, Soulland’s design principles and aesthetics are deeply rooted in craftsmanship — resulting in high quality pieces that are designed for longevity.

Much the same can be said about Lovechild 1979. Designing for modern women who want timeless, luxurious garments, Lovechild 1979’s designs transcend the idea of seasons with their feminine aesthetic, grounded by masculine, tailored silhouettes. The models therefore wore the feminine, yet menswear inspired shoes from the ECCO SARTORELLE series on the catwalk.
