Biographies

Host, Johan Wirfält

Johan Wirfält is a journalist and publisher living in Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2013, he has been the director of talks, debates and film programming at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, the largest cultural institution in Scandinavia. He has previously held positions as opinion editor at the Swedish Television and the newspaper Expressen, and was the co-founder and editor in chief of Rodeo, a Swedish magazine on fashion, style and culture. In 2018, he and photographer Kristian Bengtsson published the book Fagerhult – bilder av Sverige, a photographic essay on life in the Swedish countryside.

Jodi Everding, Fabric, Trim and Sustainability Manager, Filippa K

With over fifteen years of fabric research and development experience within large US and global retail brands, Jodi brought her expertise to Filippa K in 2016. Inspired by the mission of driving a movement of mindful consumption, she enjoys using this as a daily framework and being able to dedicate her time and focus to fabrics and products in a meaningful, conscious way.

Jodi is responsible for the fabric supply chain, working closely with the mills to ensure they share Filippa K's vision. She also collaborates with the design team to source fabrics, ensuring that the fibres and materials used are as sustainable as possible.

Originally from the US, Jodi moved to Stockholm six years ago and now calls the city home. In her spare time she finds creative expression through making ceramics and jewellery, cooking, and hunting for vintage clothing gems.

Doreen Chiang, Buying Manager for Jersey and Knits, Filippa KA Singapore-native, Doreen has lived in Sweden for the past three decades. She started her career in Singapore at an American textile agency, working with international clients and visiting factories across the Far East. She has since gained 33 years of experience in the textile industry, having joined Filippa K in 1997. She was drawn by the company’s vision of simplicity and the long-lasting mindset towards fashion.

Doreen has extensive knowledge in the supply chain, from material to garment in all product categories. She specialises in jersey and knits and is currently the Buying Manager for these areas at Filippa K. As such, she is responsible for the complete supply chain from buying the material to the finished product of the garment. Passionate about sustainability, she loves working with products that are designed to last in both quality and style.

In her spare time Doreen enjoys cooking, fitness, and playing mahjong with friends. She’s also taken up gardening as a new-found hobby in the past year.
