Tell us about Scandinavian Sustainable and your vision for the company.
We are two women, Olivia Larsen (24) and Michèle Christensen (43) that started our company 1 1/2 years ago.
We have a strong experience within the lifestyle and fashion industries and we would like to shape the future of a better fashion and lifestyle, a more conscious one!
We advise lifestyle brands – mainly within fashion and beauty – that are taking the sustainable path. We help them grow in Denmark, Scandinavia and abroad. We provide them with coaching, workshops and events that are conscious, and we are passionate about connecting the brands to the conscious consumer!
Our main competencies are within marketing, branding, sales and retail.
Our workshops (Ecocircle) are mindful, creative, innovative and efficient. Within a few hours, our brands can create a marketing strategy that is sustainable for them.
Our next Ecocircle workshop will take place in Copenhagen November 8th.

You have developed the concept “Ecocrowd community”. Who can be a part of the community and what’s the primary goal?
We gather them in order to build a conscious community – an ecocrowd.
Through events and gatherings, we give our members the opportunity to share their experiences and processes as well as networking but also to meet the conscious consumer.
It is crucial to build trust within our community – trust between the brands, as well as trust between the brands, us and the consumer.
Which sustainable decisions do you make on a daily basis?
We have a conscious and holistic lifestyle. Every decision we make is conscious: what we buy, what we eat, the way we treat people and the way we work.
It is really important to us to be as transparent as possible. We share for example our wardrobe, we recycle, and we only mainly borrow clothes from sustainable fashion brands and return them after a while.
Do you have any favorite sustainable brands?
We support many small to medium fashion brands, and some of our favorite brands are:
– Sabine Petri
– Filippa K
– Mette Frejvald
– Viil Design
– Another View
Where do you find inspiration to develop a more sustainable lifestyle?
We travel a lot to gather different trends within sustainability. We gather input and develop small reports that brands can buy – last year, we were attending sustainable fashion fairs and conferences in New York, Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris.
We follow brands on Instagram and we network a lot in Denmark and abroad. We also participate in panels and teach at VIA University college about sustainability. In that way we already connect with the upcoming and future designers.
What’s the biggest sustainable trend at this time?
It is difficult to say because sustainability is a vast term, and there are unfortunately no rules yet. But we would say, that there are many small communities emerging all over the world gathering sustainable brands to make them stronger.
Many sustainable markets within the re-cycle & re-use trends take place around the globe in big and medium cities and they are an alternative to fast fashion and lifestyle.
The sustainable movement starts from the crowd and then they meet decisions made from the top – or from big companies. We are a bridge that link them together.
